Changemakers is a forum for creating positive change in the Australian legal system. Its goal is to create a community where ideas are incubated and set free. We subscribe to the current ideas of innovation and disruption, but are happy never to use those actual words. We definitely want to keep this real.

THE INSPIRATION FOR OUR LOGO

When wolves were reintroduced to Yellowstone National Park in the United States after being absent nearly 70 years, the most remarkable “trophic cascade” occurred. The Changemakers in the Legal System liken their work to that of the wolves. Watch the video below…

ARE YOU READY TO JOIN THE CONVERSATION?

WE’RE NOT JUST FOR LAWYERS

Because we are talking about the legal system, you probably think this is for lawyers? Yes and No. Yes, lawyers are welcome, but we also know that the best ideas will be drawn from the wide interest and experiences of the many non- legal professionals who engage with the legal system every day or occasionally, willingly or unwillingly.

We are far from the only changemakers on the planet, and every community of changemakers is unique.

Some of the topics that changemakers are looking at the world over are:

    • Access to Justice
    • Alternative Dispute Resolution
    • Collaborations between Lawyers and non-Legal Professionals
    • Design thinking
    • Legal Costing
    • Peacemaking
    • Public Education
    • Technology and Artificial Intelligence
